Telehealth lets you see a licensed doctor by phone or video. For prescription medicines, U.S. law still requires a real medical evaluation. Here is how it works at EKO Labs.
1. The doctor must be licensed in your state
Doctors are licensed state by state. A telehealth doctor must hold a license in the state where you are located during the visit. That is why we ask where you live before scheduling.
2. The visit is a real evaluation
The doctor reviews your health history, current medicines and goals. They may ask for recent lab work. They can prescribe, suggest another option, or decide a medicine is not right for you.
3. The prescription goes to a licensed pharmacy
If a medicine is prescribed, the prescription is sent to a licensed pharmacy that is allowed to ship to your state. The pharmacy prepares and dispenses it.
4. Follow-up
Good care does not stop at the first prescription. Our team checks in while you are on treatment so the doctor can adjust the plan if needed.
Red flags to avoid online
- Sites that sell prescription medicines without a doctor visit
- Products labeled "for research use only" sold for people
- No U.S. address, phone number or pharmacy information
