Minoxidil topical is a prescription medicine. It is not right for everyone: sudden or patchy hair loss, which needs diagnosis first; scalp wounds or inflammation; people under 18 without medical advice. Tell your doctor about every condition you have and every medicine and supplement you take.
Common side effects are described below. Stop and seek care for any severe or unexpected reaction. This page is education, not medical advice; your doctor and pharmacist give the instructions for your treatment.
How to get started
- Message us on WhatsApp or call (954) 420-7747.
- Talk with a licensed doctor, who reviews your health history and decides if this medicine is right for you.
- If prescribed, our team shares pricing and a licensed pharmacy fills your order.
Minoxidil topical, explained by our clinical team
What it is
Topical minoxidil extends the growth phase of hair follicles and increases blood flow to the scalp. It works on its own and pairs well with finasteride in men.
No prescription is needed, but our doctors still check whether it is the right first step and how to combine it with other treatment.
FDA-approved uses
- Hereditary hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) on the crown in men and women
Our doctors prescribe for approved uses. Any other use is a decision made only by your doctor, for you, after evaluation.
How it is taken
Apply to a dry scalp twice a day (foam) or as directed. Wash hands afterwards and allow it to dry before styling.
What to expect
Shedding may briefly increase in the first weeks as old hairs are pushed out, then new growth appears over 3 to 6 months. Scalp irritation is the main side effect.
Who should not take it
- Sudden or patchy hair loss, which needs diagnosis first
- Scalp wounds or inflammation
- People under 18 without medical advice
