Important safety information

Oral semaglutide is a prescription medicine. It is not right for everyone: personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2; history of pancreatitis; pregnancy or planning pregnancy; severe stomach or bowel disease. Tell your doctor about every condition you have and every medicine and supplement you take.

Common side effects are described below. Stop and seek care for any severe or unexpected reaction. This page is education, not medical advice; your doctor and pharmacist give the instructions for your treatment.

How to get started

  • Message us on WhatsApp or call (954) 420-7747.

  • If prescribed, our team shares pricing and a licensed pharmacy fills your order.
Plain-language guide

Oral semaglutide, explained by our clinical team

What it is

Oral semaglutide is the same molecule as the weekly injection, formulated so it can be absorbed from the stomach. It must be taken on an empty stomach with a small sip of water, then nothing else for 30 minutes — that rule is what makes the tablet work.

For people who want the benefits of a GLP-1 medicine without a weekly injection, the pill is now a real option. Our doctors help decide whether the tablet or the injection fits your routine, your appetite pattern and your medical history.

FDA-approved uses

  • Chronic weight management in adults with obesity, or overweight with a weight-related condition (Wegovy® 25 mg)
  • Blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes (Rybelsus®)

Our doctors prescribe for approved uses. Any other use is a decision made only by your doctor, for you, after evaluation.

How it is taken

One tablet every morning on an empty stomach with up to 4 oz of plain water; wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking or taking other medicines. The dose is increased step by step over several weeks to limit stomach side effects.

What to expect

Appetite usually drops within the first weeks; weight change builds gradually over months. Nausea, constipation and reflux are the most common early effects and usually settle as the body adjusts.

Who should not take it

  • Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2
  • History of pancreatitis
  • Pregnancy or planning pregnancy
  • Severe stomach or bowel disease

Questions we hear

Is the pill as effective as the injection?

In trials the 25 mg tablet produced weight loss in the same range as the weekly injection. Your doctor will review what the data mean for you.

Can I switch from the injection to the pill?

Often yes. Switching needs a plan for the dose, so it is done under your doctor's direction.

Why the 30-minute rule?

Semaglutide is a peptide that the stomach would normally digest. Taking it alone with little water lets the absorption enhancer in the tablet do its job.
