Many websites sell peptides such as BPC-157 or TB-500 labeled "for research use only" or "not for human consumption." These products are not FDA-approved medicines, and the label does not make them safe or legal to use in people.
What the FDA said in 2026
In 2026 the FDA sent warning letters to several online peptide sellers. The agency said that "research use only" disclaimers do not protect a seller when the website shows the products are meant for people, for example through health claims, dosing information, injection guides or dose calculators.
