Important safety information

Alprostadil is a prescription medicine. It is not right for everyone: conditions that predispose to priapism, such as sickle cell disease; penile implants or deformity; men for whom sexual activity is medically inadvisable. Tell your doctor about every condition you have and every medicine and supplement you take.

Common side effects are described below. Stop and seek care for any severe or unexpected reaction. This page is education, not medical advice; your doctor and pharmacist give the instructions for your treatment.

How to get started

  • Message us on WhatsApp or call (954) 420-7747.
  • Talk with a licensed doctor, who reviews your health history and decides if this medicine is right for you.
  • If prescribed, our team shares pricing and a licensed pharmacy fills your order.
Plain-language guide

Alprostadil, explained by our clinical team

What it is

Alprostadil is the treatment for men in whom tablets do not work or cannot be used — for example after prostate surgery or with nitrate medicines. It directly relaxes the blood vessels, so stimulation is not required.

The first dose is given in a medical setting to find the right amount; after that, patients treat themselves at home.

FDA-approved uses

  • Erectile dysfunction due to neurogenic, vascular, psychogenic or mixed causes

Our doctors prescribe for approved uses. Any other use is a decision made only by your doctor, for you, after evaluation.

How it is taken

Injected into the side of the penis 5 to 20 minutes before sexual activity, no more than three times a week and not on consecutive days. Muse® is a pellet placed in the urethra.

What to expect

An erection that lasts about an hour. Pain at the injection site and in the penis is the most common side effect; an erection lasting more than four hours is a medical emergency.

Who should not take it

  • Conditions that predispose to priapism, such as sickle cell disease
  • Penile implants or deformity
  • Men for whom sexual activity is medically inadvisable

Questions we hear

Does it hurt?

A brief sting is normal; persistent pain should be reported.

Can I use it with Viagra®?

No, combining treatments raises the risk of a prolonged erection.

How is the dose set?

By titration in the clinic, starting low.
