Important safety information

Sildenafil is a prescription medicine. It is not right for everyone: anyone taking nitrates (nitroglycerin, isosorbide) or riociguat; recent heart attack or stroke, or unstable heart disease; severe liver disease; certain inherited eye conditions. Tell your doctor about every condition you have and every medicine and supplement you take.

Common side effects are described below. Stop and seek care for any severe or unexpected reaction. This page is education, not medical advice; your doctor and pharmacist give the instructions for your treatment.

How to get started

  • Message us on WhatsApp or call (954) 420-7747.
  • Talk with a licensed doctor, who reviews your health history and decides if this medicine is right for you.
  • If prescribed, our team shares pricing and a licensed pharmacy fills your order.
Plain-language guide

Sildenafil, explained by our clinical team

What it is

Sildenafil was the first oral treatment for erectile dysfunction, approved in 1998. It relaxes blood vessels in the penis so that, with sexual stimulation, an erection can happen and last.

It works for roughly four hours and is taken only when needed. Generic sildenafil is widely available and inexpensive.

FDA-approved uses

  • Erectile dysfunction in adult men

Our doctors prescribe for approved uses. Any other use is a decision made only by your doctor, for you, after evaluation.

How it is taken

One tablet about 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity, no more than once a day. A heavy, fatty meal slows absorption.

What to expect

Improved ability to get and keep an erection with stimulation. Headache, flushing, stuffy nose, indigestion and temporary blue-tinted vision are the common side effects.

Who should not take it

  • Anyone taking nitrates (nitroglycerin, isosorbide) or riociguat
  • Recent heart attack or stroke, or unstable heart disease
  • Severe liver disease
  • Certain inherited eye conditions

Questions we hear

Does it work without stimulation?

No. It supports the natural response; it does not create desire or an automatic erection.

Sildenafil or tadalafil?

Sildenafil is shorter-acting; tadalafil lasts up to 36 hours or can be taken daily. Your doctor will help you choose.

Can I take it with blood pressure medicine?

Often yes, but alpha-blockers and nitrates need special care — tell your doctor everything you take.
